“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
Have you felt like you could use some strengthening lately? Any fear out there? How about the feeling that you could really use a strong hand to lift you up? I’ve been there and today I desire to encourage our hearts with this good news from God’s living Word.
There’s a reason that we don’t have to fear. It’s because God is WITH us. And we can KNOW that we’ll be helped and strengthened, as we look to Him. He promises to uphold us. The Message version of this portion of Scripture says: “I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.” He won’t let us go.
We can all use this kind of encouragement sometimes. But the strong survivors of human trafficking that we help at Catalyst Ministries really need to hear this kind of encouragement. Daily. They’ve been told thousands of times that they don’t matter. Lies can get under our skin and can tend to become habits of thought, so we need to bring the strong light of God’s truth to show up those diminishing thoughts for what they are.
Our theme at Catalyst this month is Spring. As our team brainstormed about what this means, for our work and communication, so many exciting ideas surfaced. One of the ideas that is birthed in me in this new season is that of Hope. We see reminders that Spring is near as we see fresh flowers begin to poke up through the dirt and we sense warmer breezes in the air. The beauty of spring is something that brings new hope of the good that’s ahead.
At Catalyst Farms, and even in our Catalyst offices, we strive to create beauty because we want to convey that sense of hope to new residents. As we welcome new women to a new life at Catalyst Farms, we desire that they sense their worth and value through a myriad of intentional efforts made on their behalf, and just one of those, is creating a beautiful and safe place for them to live.
