Catalyst recognizes that being a single mom can be a challenging season. We also recognize that no matter the circumstance, every woman is valuable and beautiful. With these convictions, Catalyst developed a ministry committed to encouraging and empowering single moms to see their true worth in Christ. We offer two distinct ministries for single moms and encourage all single moms to contact us so that we can walk with and encourage each mother.
We believe that every person has value and every person is worth fighting for.
single moms' morning out
Catalyst has adopted an annual event called Single Moms' Morning Out. Single Moms' Morning Out events began over 10 years ago at Evangelical Free Church in Bloomington, IL. The goal of every event is to "bless the socks off" of single moms. This event has spread to 11 host churches in 2016 and served over 2,000 women and over 4,000 children in Illinois and Iowa.
At this event, single moms are pampered for an entire morning, free of charge. These pampering options include spa treatments, hairstyles, and a complementary breakfast and take-home lunch. Also offered is child care, car care, and a "blessings" room where moms can pick up a few gifts. The goal of this morning is for the women to leave feeling encouraged and filled with the truth that they are beautiful daughters of the King.
We pray that every woman who attends will be poured into so that they might be able to experience the ultimate love and relationship with Christ, and in return, pour into their families this same love and truth.
Single Moms' Morning Out events are free, but registration is required. Our most recent event was held April 29, 2017. Please continue to check back for more updates for the next Single Moms' Morning out events.
Single Moms' Mentor Groups began to bring together single moms and equip them with the truth in Christ so that they could reflect those truths within their lives and the lives of their families. Mentor groups offer single moms a place to rest and rejuvenate with other single moms from the community. They meet weekly, with some groups offering childcare. Through the mentor groups, single moms encounter the presence of God and grow in intimacy with Him as they also build community around them who will journey with them through life.
