February Update from Julie

Happy February, Friends!

This month our theme at Catalyst Ministries is LOVE.  Here are some beautiful  truths about love, found in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7:

  • Love is patient and kind

  • Love does not envy or boast

  • It is not arrogant or rude

  • It does not insist on its own way

  • It is not irritable or resentful

  • It does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth

  • Love bears all things; believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things

This wonderful description is both a challenge and a guide for us in life and in our work at Catalyst Ministries.  We see how to show love to the residents we serve and those we serve with, we need to demonstrate patience and kindness. It’s not always easy to do this, and we need to draw on God’s strength to carry this out.

We don’t want to be boastful because we know we can do this work and see amazing results only as God empowers us to do so. It’s an honor to co-labor with the Lord and each other in this good work.

We could go on through this list of words that describe love and what it means to love, but one thing we know is that this is an action word.  Love is a verb.  It’s as we demonstrate love that we see God at work, in and through us.  Our perfect example, Jesus Christ, demonstrates this best in his sacrificial death on the cross for us.  See John 3:16.

I want to express a special and sincere thanks to each of you who have and continue to demonstrate love to us and those we serve at Catalyst Ministries! You have shown a love that lasts and brings life through your prayers, your volunteering,  and your generosity in giving!

As we reflect on LOVE this month, join us in thanking God for these things and praying with us:

  1.  This past week a group from our Illinois location flew to Texas to help out with some training for new team members.  We had a fruitful and fun time together as we each grew and learned more!

  2. We recently held a Catalyst Ranch Shower to help us equip the new safehouse with needed items. What a blessing! There are still some items left and rooms to adopt, if you’d like to participate. https://www.catalystministries.net/texas

  3. We appreciate your prayers  for current and future residents as they make important decisions in the coming months.

  4. Pray for our overall team and Board members-for wisdom and guidance, as we step forward in new ways for Catalyst Ministries.

With Great Love,

Julie
