August Update from Julie


Education is our theme this month at Catalyst Ministries! As students are buying school supplies and new backpacks, we at Catalyst are also excited and strategic about the value of education for the women who are part of our Restorative Homes! 

One part of this is to support those who, because of their childhood and teenage trauma, did not complete their high school education and receive a high school diploma.  Getting a GED (General Education Degree) can have a huge impact on the future academic and career goals of the residents we work with at Catalyst. According to the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics, 73% of all jobs require a diploma or GED.  Lastly, it’s also  an accomplishment that will contribute to independent living success; dignity,  confidence and a   positive impact on a survivors’ life!  

When you support Catalyst Ministries, this is one of the many areas of growth that you are contributing to for survivors of human trafficking and sex trafficking. 

We want to extend a special invitation to you to join us for our upcoming Be A Catalyst Dinner Fundraiser on September 16th, in Bloomington, Illinois! You’ll hear from our inspiring keynote speaker, Angie Hanson, hear from one of our graduates and learn ways that you can make a real difference in the fight against human trafficking.
