“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:3-4)
Our theme at Catalyst Ministries this month is EDUCATION. As I write this August Update, one of our residents has recently completed her associate's degree and will complete her bachelor's degree in a year or so. She is reaching a goal that has been the desire of her heart! She has done well and been very diligent, and we’re very proud of her and her hard work. She has shared that because of her time living in our Restorative Home and receiving such amazing support and care from our team, this dream is becoming a reality for her. Praise the Lord!
This is one of our strategic objectives at Catalyst Ministries for those we serve. We know that a GED and ongoing education help open the door for more dignity, independence, and better jobs. It can empower individuals to take important next steps, both while in our program and after they graduate.
Another great milestone we’ve witnessed this summer is that three of our residents have completed their program at Catalyst Ministries and have graduated! We’re thrilled at the wonderful progress, healing, and transformation they’ve experienced in the past two years! Each will be launched into secure and well-supported independent living situations and will have what they need to keep taking essential steps forward for a successful and purposeful life.
We want to pause and express our deep gratitude to those of you who have helped make a significant difference in the lives of the women we serve and “speak up” for at Catalyst Ministries! Through your prayers, giving, and volunteering, you are helping to make a difference that lasts forever. Thank you!! Please continue to support our work, as together we follow God’s directions and plans.
What a blessing to be reminded recently how children can help “be a voice for the voiceless” too! A precious 11-year-old girl wanted to use some of her tithe to give to Catalyst and was able to give $36! We’re so thankful for her heart to give and to be generous.
We have talked to you about the value of Work Days for churches and groups to engage with us. This is a special way you can be involved in helping complete tasks and projects that we need extra help with. If you’re not in the immediate Dallas area, there are still ways to help, so please reach out if you’d like to discuss this. In July, we were blessed to host a large group of volunteers from Lakeshore Church, who showed up and served in completing a painting project, other needed tasks, and by making our Garden sanctuary BEAUTIFUL! We can’t thank you enough and are so grateful for your partnership with us at Catalyst!
As we look forward to the future, we are excited to invite you to register for our "Be a Catalyst Dinner" that takes place on October 23rd! Visit our website for more information and to purchase tickets. We’d love to have you with us!
Please be praying for:
- Our new Graduates
- New residents, staff and volunteers joining us - God’s grace and guidance as they transition to their new home and roles
- New Monthly Impact Donors
Learning and Growing together with you!
